Alone
A choice you should make
May I?
Happy New Month!
You have successfully made it to another month in the year where we live, not just survive. May I ask how it has been for you? I know you received my letter last week but I can ask again. Because seven days is enough time for things to change. So, how have you been? Even if you won’t respond to this letter, selah. Hold still for a minute, close your eyes and think about it. Are you genuinely fine? If you aren’t, speak to someone. Most importantly, speak to God. Track record tells me He holds all the answers.
For me, April easily became my best month in this year so far. And as I learnt reading through my bible, “it pays to fellowship with God and obey Him”. Circumstances, people, thoughts, ideologies and other things shouldn’t hold water beside God’s instructions. You clearly see a ditch in front of you, but God says keep driving. That’s exactly what you do. Keep driving. That’s what April taught me. That’s what I’m still learning.
May I ask what plans you have for May? We are five months into the year that way. Are you making a headway or do you keep hitting roadblocks? May I ask if you are tired? If you are not, that makes me so glad. If you are, I have preached the arts of rest and break and asking for help over and over.
Just as men are not wired to cheat, humans are not wired to live life alone. Even if you do not have your helpmeet now; you have your brethren, family, friends, neighbours and the people that God has place around you. Allow them to hold you through your tiredness. Most importantly, allow God. Let go and let God.
So, in the quest to be a better person in every area of life, don’t run alone. If you run alone, you’d end up surviving and forget to live.
The dynamics of my letters have a different undertone this year because I’m more particular about seeing everyone here live. If you recall my first letter of the year, I talked about how we should lean on a God who knows the end from the beginning. Life may be unpredictable but being on God’s side is the most expo you’ll ever get and need.
I may not be overloading you with tips to stay glued to your goals (you can always read my previous letters for that) but I’ll teach you as I ingrain, the way to live in a world like ours.
Right about now, I’ll quote one of my favourite quotes in the world.
“He who has God and everything else has no more than he who has God only.” CS Lewis.
Last month, I said God first. This month, I’m saying God only. God first and only.
The first time I read that quote to my bible class students, they looked at me like I was stupid. I’m not stupid.
The reason why we will never be satisfied with life is because we keep looking at what will never satisfy us. Not in this life, nor in the life to come.
God + houses + cars + wives + children + riches + private jets + companies +investment + food and drinks + the entire world even is not greater than God alone. Will never be!
God is ultimate. God is the only inheritance you need. God is what Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, like that like that, kept transferring as an inheritance. God is who you should want all the days of your life.
You are not living if God is not all that you live for.
P.S: In living for God, you’ll care for His people, too. They are not mutually exclusive.
So, dear reader, God first; God alone; God above all. I hope you keep this in mind as we navigate life. And finally, while I wrote this letter, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the song I have now shared below. Give it a good listen.

Cheers to God-filled May!
See you next month!

God and God alone!
That's it.
